Acceptable Use Policy
Whenever you access any services or products offered by Pearson (" Services") or interact with our website in any way, you must comply with this Acceptable Use Policy (" AUP")
You can include short excerpts of the materials in reports and presentations provided that this is for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only and such use is accompanied by copyright notices. Please get in touch with us if you would like to reproduce the materials for any other reason at https://www.pearson.com/en-us/global-permission-granting.html.
You must own (or have the appropriate rights to use) anything you upload to the Services.
You agree that any breach of this AUP will allow Pearson to terminate your access or receipt of the Services.
You must not:
- redistribute any materials available through the Services (except where permitted above);
- share any questions or answers made available through the Services;
- make the materials available in hard copy format, regardless of whether such use is related to the course for which the Services are provided;
- make the materials available to those who are not authorised recipients;
- use or scrape the materials for the development of any software program, including, but not limited to, training, fine tuning or grounding any machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) system;
- carry out any text or data mining;
- cache or archive the materials;
- do anything which could impact the security or integrity or availability of the Services, for example, introducing viruses or malware;
- copy any part of the website or Services;
- carry out a cyber attack;
- try to gain or provide or facilitate unauthorised access to the Services;
- post, upload or share any content which is offensive, harmful, illegal, defamatory, abusive or indecent;
- do anything which infringes the intellectual property rights of Pearson or anybody else;
- use the Services to advertise or transmit junk mail or SPAM.
In addition to the points listed above:
- In relation to Smart Lesson Generator:
- You must not use it if you are under 18 years of age (or allow it to be used by anyone under 18 years of age).
- You must not exceed any prescribed usage limits which you are made aware of by Pearson from time to time. The use of Smart Lesson Generator is also subject to a general fair usage principle and at the time of this AUP fair usage is considered a maximum of 5000 generations per user in any calendar year. Any excessive or unreasonable use (as determined solely by Pearson) is prohibited.
- In relation to Speaking Practice:
- Children under 6 years old must not use Speaking Practice.
- Children aged 6 to 18 must only use Speaking Practice with the express permission of a parent or guardian, or if they are being supervised by one.
